Can someone please post a picture of their battery hold down / provide advice on how these were originally secured - there are three holes at the bottom of the battery tray (more like a shelf) area but no hold down in place in my car. On a separate topic what is standard idle speed - rebuilt my 32 IMPE this weekend and my car is sitting around 1100 RPM with the idle set screw not engaged at all.

That's how mine is installed. Had to take it off to "pump up the battery" and took the opportunity to make some pics. The best from Switzerland, Renald.
Thanks - appreciate the pictures and advice.
Idle speed is about 800 on my car. I’m sure it depends on altitude and temp. Sea level and 70 degrees Fahrenheit
Glad I had the fire extinguisher.
I bought a universal tie down battery strap. If you don’t tie it down look at the mess it can make. After buying my car and on its first test drive almost lost the car due to fire. Make sure you carry a fire extinguisher also. Hope these help.
..and here is a pic from the 1st series Fiat 600 (my car) with the correct battery cover. The best, Renald.
Hi - it's the basic installation of a Fiat 600D (see pic). It is protected with a lid. The earlier model of the Fiat 600 (1956/57) had a different lid but the similar system. The best, Renald.
